I've done some basic wiring before (sockets, lighting etc.), so I figured I'd try my hand at self installing a hive thermostat. The problem is after removing the front plate from the old thermostat I'm stumped on the wiring setup.
This is the setup in the old unit:
Here's the wiring diagram for that unit:
Finally the wiring diagram for the Hive dual channel:
If I had to make a guess here I would say I need connect NO 4 from the old unit to 'Hot water on' and NO3 to 'Heating on' and leave hot water off and heating off disconnected. What's really throwing me off is the earth wire sleeve around the wire going into NO 4. Maybe there's something I'm missing here? Obviously I don't really want to play a guessing game here.
