Stick to an appropriate speed (up to the prescribed limit) After all you'd be insane to drive at 70 on a fog bound motorway (would be legal in terms of speed, though, there is of course the matter of driving without due care and attention)

My point exactly,,,but vast majority of drivers do not give a fig for weather,,speed limits,,maintain gap to vehicle in front, etc etc..

You on dumb patrol as usual. Improving roads includes improving road safety. As usual jumping to the wrong conclusion.
Bolox...ppl just go faster...more signs,,speed humps, ,more lanes,,,more roads,,no 1 gives a fek ..

Curious why you think a blanket imposed limit on speed via technology would change that?

Curious to know your better solution to 25k deaths and injuries per year, ,just in Europe..down to RTA,s

Just curious, out of the 25k RTA deaths, how many are attributed to speeding. I know Drink driving, quite rightly vilified is responsible for about 5% in the UK, but IIRC the majority of accidents are just caused by "Driver error"

I'm struggling to find the exact data in regards to the 25k figure but a paper produced by the UK Dept for Transport 2015 based on 2013 figutes suggests of 1587 road fatalities, speeding attributes to 16% and 13% for travelling too fast for conditions.

Tax cyclists using the roads.
You're not a "road tax" kind of guy are you?
Road Tax was abolished in the mid 1930's. The pot of tax, some of which is used for road maintenance, comes from all kinds of different taxes, which cyclists contribute to.
Vehicle taxation is based on emissions - how much does a human emit compared to a motorised vehicle?

depends on how much they fart.

Well, a smaller volume than cows, but I must concede that I have not seen many cycling cows.
