Nobody has disputed which mirror is the flat one and which mirror is the convex one. The point that was made is that you should adjust the flat one to see in to your blind spot and not rely on the convex one.

People sometime incorrectly set up their mirrors on transits/flatbeds. The big mirror is your blind spot mirror, the small one is your distance mirror. People sometimes set those the wrong way around.
