As you will have seen from John's reply, you have CH and HW the wrong way round.

Just out of interest, Stofile, do you at present have a room thermostat?

Yes - there is an ancient honeywell thermostat sitting ahead of the CH pump. I have left it in place for now and set it to it's highest to keep it open and allow my smart therm to always be able to call for CH uninterrupted.
