I’ve actually lived in a house through these various stages, so have a lot of real live experience of it.
 
Can you comment on my overlay of your diagram onto the Finder 40.31 Relay (230v, 1 pole, 10A) and 95.03 Socket Bernard suggested?

Yes - there is an ancient honeywell thermostat sitting ahead of the CH pump. I have left it in place for now and set it to it's highest to keep it open and allow my smart therm to always be able to call for CH uninterrupted.
