Is it possible to purchase a mains USB socket which could be permanently installed onto a wall by an electrician which *does not* have an electrical 3-pin socket as part of it?

I've been looking on eBay without luck, but perhaps there's a certain name for the product which I'm not searching for, or perhaps they don't exist.

Thanks.

Thanks dannyboi 2003.

Presumably Euro Data Coms is just the name of the company/make/model. It states voltage is 220 – 240V so presumably would work in the UK.

No a euro module is the standard for things like ethernet modules etc. That unit and euro plate are made by MK.

If an electrician locates two double electrical on a wall directly above each other, as far as I'm aware, he can link them together i.e. he doesn't need to bring a separate cable to each of the two electrical sockets all the way from the central mains electrical box to each socket.

In a similar sense if one of these independent USB chargers was located aove the two eletrical sockets on the same wall, presumably this USB charger can be connected up to the two sockets i.e. presumably the USB charger wouldn't require a separate independent cable from the mains electrical box?

The one linked above states "Large terminal capacity (3 x 2.5mm2) – suitable for direct wiring to ring main." so yes is the answer to that.
I do also like the fact it shuts off completely when the USB lead is unplugged.

Compared to £13 for one with a mains socket on - is it worth not having the sockets
?

Is that because you like the fact that it saves money, or is there perhaps improved safety?
