It looks like the solution that the EU posed - a border down the Irish Sea - one rejected by May is now essentially being revived under Boris.

NI will eseentially remain within the EU.

Haven't heard of that, but would be interested to know more...

The ERG have though said that their approach is for an "equivalence" arrangement, where the EU would accept that, while UK food and agriculture rules would be different, they would still be as good as EU rules and would not put consumers at risk.

What happens when we start importing inferior US food products under that 'wonderful trade deal' that we then use to produce export products?

Buffoon and his cabinet have been staring into the abyss, while lying to the country that it will be fine. Those few with any sense or duty still in government who have not already resigned have said they will if he tries to push our nation off the cliff.

Whatever they accept will be worse than May's deal, which they rejected; and far worse than we have now.

Northern Ireland will still be in single market and customs union.

And therefore 3rd country border will be in Irish sea.

Any regulatory divergence in England would mean full sanitary, phytosanitary checks, rules of origin checks between England and Ireland.

The EU wont want chlorinated chicken pies in Paris.....

If all the above is true and Boris's deal is actually worse than Theresa Mays , what then are the chances of Boris's deal getting through the commons.

He can rely on the loyalty of all those MPs with whom he has built up close and lasting relationships based on confidence, trust and competence, and who believe he will devote himself to the best interests of the whole nation.

And the career Conservatives that he has not sacked.

He'll be defeated.

I would have thought he has a fairly good chance of getting any deal through.

Because I have a feeling that quitters (from all political sides) and self serving tories will take the opportunity just to get out this time...

And they are probably thinking that as nothing is ever set in stone, things that are agreed now could be changed in the future!

DUP says it won't vote for deal because it 'drives coach and horses' through Good Friday agreement
Here is the key extract from the DUP’s statement.

"These arrangements will become the settled position in these areas for Northern Ireland. This drives a coach and horses through the professed sanctity of the Belfast agreement.

For all of these reasons it is our view that these arrangements would not be in Northern Ireland’s long-term interests. Saturday’s vote in parliament on the proposals will only be the start of a long process to get any withdrawal agreement bill through the House of Commons."

Yes you are correct.

And its being challenged in court, hearing is tomorrow.
Bear in mind it would prevent the deal, but it would mean new leglisation to go through house of commond and house of lords.
