Lean to update, birdsmouth questions and pics.. Windy day!!

Never sure how to make sense of a continued thread but with a new question- this is another question from an old post where I asked about a weird lean-to I am building.

Anyway- see pics, I have set ledger 6"x2" and eaves beam 6"x2" parallel to eachother and both level. Some advised I do something probably more sensible but way beyond limits of my brain/skills. It means the gutter and eaves will run out and down towards the fence as it runs away from the house, but at least the gutter run will be in the right direction for the water collection.

The post that is set so far into the usable space is not going to be so much of an oddity as I will wall it off to make a side protection from rain, to dry logs.

My question is, as pics, the first and last roof joists birdsmouth over a 4" post. Intermediates (every meter between) will birdsmouth over a 2" eaves beam. (Probably wrong terminology)

I have cocked up the angles wasting x2 4m 5"x2" timbers - it is sooo hard to get the cuts right and nearly been blown off the ladder

Should I add sections of 5"x2" in between the posts, screwed to the 6"x2" to make a wider bearing for the birdsmouths?

The pitch that has emerged is 12x5.5 or 24.5 degrees, btw. There was a chap that said with a steep pitch i might find the water runs down so fast it overspills the gutter...

Last pic is of my first ever scarf joint. The bolts go through a piece of 3/4 inch marine ply on other side... Adding pieces of 5"x2" to the current 6"x2" would cover up the scarf joint which so far IMO is the only good looking aspect

Any thoughts?

OP,
get off that roof framing and stay off until the wind and the rain have well finished - professionals dont work at height in storm winds so why should you?

I'm with you. I have done other ideotic things and often film them just in case of entertainment value.
Too rainy today for camera work...
Just got bored, too much coffee, what else is there to do?

Smashed up a huge cast iron bath in bare feet once, on film. Horrible mistake. But funny to watch now.


Anyway, was that 'no' an answer to my question about making a larger bearing for the joists? And if anyone knows a fool proof method of measuring to cut joists I'd be grateful. Will save some trees too.

I've not even read your post yet - I need to sit down with a glass of malt and an Havana in front of the fire before undertaking a long read.
