I would find a reputable dealer to give you an appraisal, some stamps are worth a bomb.

They're rather nice - none of those I remember. And yes, you can use them all - I don't think stamps have any sell-by-date. I remember reading that people out there save a bit if bulk buy before stamps go up with the new stamps with no value printed on them.

thanks...as i look now they have the values on them...so i would i guess have to add something to make up the difference
to me a stamp is a stamp so i dont attach any sentimental value or collectors desire for them
cheers

This site is selling some of yours

This is retail, so I would suggest using them if you send mail. If you have any stamps with 1st or 2nd on them, they will be valid as 1st or 2nd class any time.

cheers...that is all i needed to know.
dealers sale value on stamp...£1.20 for the heraldry set...postal value £1.05...
will ask next time now at the post office for corroboration and add any value to use for postal purposes

I have had stuff posted to me from a stamp auction (not stamps) and the envelope was festooned with stamps of many different varieties and values.

I bought a set of stamps featuring cats from Yemen in the 60s, I recall my mum saying they will be worth a bit one day, £2 on eBay , less then I paid in real terms

Just received this in the post today, the definitives (4 & 2p )must be from the 80's

They are the Comet ones (1st class) didn't realise they were that old. The other plain stamps were the ones I thought to be from the 80's, but reading up, that effigy was 1st used in the 60's, and is still in use on stamps today. Well I never knew that.

its the classic machin head series...used a lot... and collectable

The Machin series of postage stamps is the main definitive stamp series in the United Kingdom, used since 5 June 1967. It is the second series to figure the image of Elizabeth II, replacing the Wilding series.
