it looks like your vid showed, after an initial delay when first powered up, that the iBoost fed a small amount of power to the heater, regulated presumably by the solar available; and then, when you pressed the timed boost, it seemed to feed power for the limited period.

Have I missed something?

I dont believe so, fist off solar via the switch was supplying power then when manual boost is activated solar is replaced by power is taken from the mains which if the panels are generating, are still supplementing the supply

Yes probably because the fancy circuitry is bypassed, its just the DC stage thats firing the boiler, thats if you believe its capable of supplying Dc to the IH

Sorry haven't read the whole thread but try changing the electronic cylinder stat for a "mechanical" stat, I reckon the stat is suffering from the inductance on the 230vac immersion cable.

Might also be worth changing the flex for shielded, heatproof cable.

I don't know if there is a supplier of small quantities of screening mesh.

I have a Steinel tester that identifies AC or DC. No doubt there's a cheap way of checking it or damping the switch-on pulse.

FWIW some time ago I’d actually pulled the thermostat and its probes well away from the tank and the problem still existed, how far do you think the field inductance would cover?

They come from different sides of the tank but the thermostat probe would be very close to the IH wire when its in its pocket . When I moved thermostat to conduct the test it would at least half a meter away

Could be noise on the cables causing your problem, a £20 phial thermostat would most probably cure the problem.https://www.screwfix.com/p/strom-ssctds01-aquastat-dual-cylinder-thermostat/6659v

Thanks I’ll look into it but reluctant to change yet as its still under guarantee..I must say Oso have been less than helpful

Thanks for that, have a look at my post and could you please tell me if your controls are the same and how far from the cyl is the iboost.Oh, is it an iboost or iboost+
