Wetness on loft window frame

Hi,
I'm hoping somebody could help me and have an answer to a problem,
The last few days of rain have brought a wet stain onto the wooden frame of my loft window, the window is a Inliegend Fenster kenndaten, not a velux. I've stuck my head out the window but can't see anything obvious, it just seems a strange place for water to be getting in,
Just wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before?
Just to note, the picture is of the bottom of the window, the damp stain is climbing upwards to a point.

I can't take one of the outside right now, I will do later but nothing looks to have changed to how it's been for the last 15 years .

Danny without pictures of the outside people will just be guessing really. I am not familiar with that make of skylight myself, but I have seen plenty of velux windows fitted using any old screw instead of the rust proof alloy screws provided and then they rust causing problems down the line.

Hi Danny. I'm afraid I can't help with your query but I have just moved home and have inherited 2 roof windows made by Inliegend Fensterkenndaten. I wonder if they are related to Roto windows as they appear to have the same codes (mine are prefix 339 then 7/9). Either way I can't find an obvious way of locking these windows and I hope to move my young son into that room - can you help please?!?!

Hi Reo, I just have a handle at the bottom of the window in the centre that just hooks into a latch on the frame, must be different to your windows as it's really easy and obvious on mine.

Thanks for the quick reply. I too have a handle right in the middle at the bottom but there is no actual lock - my children can easily open and close the window and I was hoping to lock it!

there are locks and locking devices available for that kind of frame and handle - google for them, or get a local joiner in to fit a lock for you.
just me but i wouldn't risk it with the little monkeys who will sometimes climb out of any handy window onto any handy roof.
