UK Policy of tackling covid through herd immunity

If we wanted good public services, we wouldn't have voted for a Tory government.

The slope of the growth line is about the same for all European nations. So you can see where we will be in a week. Or two.

Observe countries that learned their lesson from SARS

Oh look witty saying we need to implement social distancing.

I wonder how the posters on here will backtrack again.

Can't close schools without reducing key staff. How many drs, nurses, parameducs will stay at home.

A decade of cuts means we dont have enough staff to cover.

You reap what you sow.

Boris has just updated precautions. In short no gathering / reduced social contact - pubs, clubs, and etc, Not closed them as other have but if obeyed much the same. Also no none essential travel - something I think should have been suggesting from day 1. Work at home if possible. If one person in a family gets it self isolate all for 14 days. Seems London is leading the pack on rate of increase. No change otherwise really. Single person gets it isolate for 7 days and don't use 111 unless things get worse. More Weeks of self isolation for the elderly but if need to get food etc - 3 months. Reduce social contact again in some ways.

No move on schools yet.

My nieces fiance has become ill, he has a fever with temp of 40deg and sore throat. She works in the NHS and they told her she is fine to carry on working as she has no symptoms.

Which is why the Scientists are asking to peer review the Government model.

What harm is there in getting them checked out?

Sounds like flu symptoms rather than Coronovirus headache/cough. Needs must.

Way to go answering the wrong question. The Government needs to publish its models, data and assumptions. Boris mentioned Transparency - lets see if he is a man of his words.

the problem is my sister has been reassured by the advice.

She went to visit my 91 year old dad yesterday and was surprised when I suggested it would be best if she didnt visit him for 7 days to see if any symptoms appear.

is she gets the virus and becomes infectious, she could pass it to my father, who may also show no symptoms. I could then get it and pass it to my in laws. My Dads carers could get it and pass it on to other patients they have.

this is why we need clear advice -there are infinite possibilities and any of them could result in death. The stakes are high.

You've had it - essentially avoid social contact - no pubs, gathering of any sort and etc and especially with the elderly. It doesn't matter if you think you have it or don't have it. We are all on voluntary lock down.Work from home if at all possible.

UK Gov won't mandate business closures, Gov would have to pay compensation as they mandated closures Simply

There is no shutdown coming UK Gov is 100% prepared to accept the deaths this will cause because they won't spend money protecting small business
