Something I should have asked at the beginning.

Have ever actually had this working since you bought it or are you now only just getting it out for first use?
 
I was wondering if this was your first time then maybe the original owner had messed about with the Dip switches.
 
Yes and I don't think you would need any information from the original. It's simply a bank of slide switches.
Only place you may get them from now would be an on line supplier such as RS Components or some other electronic component supplier. Not sure if Farnell or Edmundsons still do them.
 
Can I buy these things?

As i said before you're better off looking on those forums i posted. If we had a wiring or circuit diagram we could fault find easier. Logic says if the manual override microswitch AND the coin switch are failing which i hazard a guess wired in parallel on same circuit dip switches won't do much and i strongly doubt dip switch module has failed. I could be wrong it's been known ;)
My guess is a dry joint, a component failure or corroded connection in there. Or of course both switches have failed. (which are easy to test via continuity with a meter)
