How long should planning notice take

Hello. I got a planning application in just before the lockdown. I still haven't seen a planning notice in the street. Apparently the local planning office didn't get on with working from home for quite a while after lockdown .
So does anyone know how long notices have to be as I assume this will be a factor in delaying any decision.

has your planning app been verified?

once it is verified it should appear on the planning portal.

the public consultation (writing to neighbours, street notice, parish council) should be available for 4 weeks

In my experience that is all the planning department do at the start, they then sit on it until about the 7th week.

once validated the decision notice should be done 8 weeks later.

Planning Site Notice’s normally go up quite quickly and are either put up by the Planning Officer or sent to the applicant/agent to put up. With all that’s going on, there may be delays with the PSN’s but not this long. It may be worth getting in contact with your Planning Officer to clarify the PSN situation as it you’re right, it can delay the determination of the application.

There is not always need for one that's why.

Unless your house is listed, or you are in a conservation area, it is highly unlikely a notice will be put up on the street.

Down here some LA's send them to the applicant to stick up.

About 2 months, thats how long it took mine last year, in the current situation, maybe longer.

Thanks for replies folks, I called the council. you cant talk to planning but the receptionist said its been verified and given to an officer. Its 9 weeks today knowing my council it'll be a lot longer.

To update, I called the receptionist again and the decision date is 2nd of July but don't hold my breath. The application was 9 weeks ago. She said they were delayed because they couldn't get to use the big printer.

We do have notices up in this area by the way.
