I am going to demolish the old plastic box (porch) on the front of our house and make it a bit more substantial and a bit warmer hopefully!
I have been offered about 40 trench blocks which would pretty much do all I need, and then I'm thinking to have it k-rendered.
Does this sound feasible?

Yes.

Thanks fellas
Woody I am planning on digging a trench just outside the old porch and building the new one around it so I can keep some sort of security until the last minute.

regs for porch is for internal floor space <3m so technically making the walls thicker only takes away from the outside space!

No it's measured externally as the ground footprint.

Confusingly some places, even the planning portal described it a "ground floor area measured externally" which is a bit nonsense.

For all it is wouldn’t you be better building it out of 100mm blocks??

Good point and i have just gone and read the technical guidance and it is now clear that it is not permitted if
"the ground area (measured externally) of the structure would exceed 3 square metres"

From the legislation at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2015/596/schedule/2/part/1/crossheading/class-d-porches/made
