I've just installed a Ring floodlight out the front

It's a bit slow and lags behind real time.. This I think is a poor wireless connection

The speach is very crusty and unclear. Would this donyou think be down to the poor reception.

I was asked to install one did some reading most reviewers experiencing what you have despite high speed connections etc there seems to be a flaw in the software still..
