Banging Noises In House

Wait until it happens again and turn off the electric at the fuse box straight away, if it stops then its an electric fault.

Just an idea.

What pipework might you have in the ceilig/floor?
Where is your heating and was it on when you hear the thumping?

Perhaps you have a burglar stuck in a chimney? :)

Only water pipes would be in between the joists.
Heating is off and the combi boiler is in the opposite corner of the house.

I will try this. It shouldn't be an electrical fault though, the house is less than 12 months old.

"it shouldn't".
Yeah, faults never follow that logic :)

Isolate 1 toilet at a time. See if the noise goes.

What sort of hot water cylinder do you have?

Had a similar situation around here years ago

Generally Intersperced with religious chanting

Oh God
Or
Oh my god
>snip< in some type of intimate perverse ceremony
Reminds me of when we went to Cuba and stopped in a 'semi-detatched beach' hut - woken up in the early hours by rhythmic banging on the wall. Once it finished we had to give the neighbours a good round of applause! :)

I'd have given them a good round of something! :ROFLMAO:

Will do.
I don't have a cylinder - it's a combi boiler.

Strange for a house that size..

If not a toilet adjust your main stopcock just give it a little turn then give it time. Then turn again if noise persists
