A lot of the lights hitting doors must be the designers fault.
The drawing says put it there , so they have!

The above one is a compilation of bad workmanship and "not my job" ship that tradesmen have come across.

Just how much work have you done on building sites?

I've seen most of those at some stage, and a lot worse. 90% of the time it's down to management, such as when a partition wall was being put up in the wrong place according to exerybodies drawings except the partition contractor, I told site management and their answer?
"They're working to an old drawing".
"Can't you stop them and get them to put it in the right place before they destroy other peoples work?"
"No they have a contract."

I remember realising that if I fitted a panel where the plan said you could not reach a valve behind it, however it all has a knock on effect so not permitted to move panel without new plans, so was told fit the panel but only use just enough screws as clearly it will need to move, but the company gets extra money to move a panel, but if not fitted they don't so fit it.

Design is so important, and we see again and again how people simply don't design they just do what they have always done. And we have the bonus system to blame for battle of the trades, in the old days the tradesmen were expected to help each other out, so we all learnt a little of the other trades, and we would see what their problems are, so easier to have a dog leg in a bit of cable than in a bit of pipe. But we would often end up sitting down drinking tea waiting for some think else to be completed first. But where the bonus came in, one could not wait until the plumber arrived and say we have a problem here, how are WE going to get around it, it became first come first served, and I know where people have started early in order to have a clear run.

I do think some of the things were staged, but in thick gloves, and full breathing kit for spraying I can see why you could not remove bits and how it was better to return to touch up latter than remove all the gear to correct a small error in preparation. However the sign on the wall, was not sprayed, that was clearly staged, the bricks maybe real.

We have all seen this before, I bet there was no power in those leads and it was set up for the photo.

So when I asked the site management to stop the partition mentioned AND SIGN IT OFF so they got paid and then pay them to remove it [even thought it is not fitted] and put up a wall in the right place I was told in no uncertain term that is not the way the building trade works.

I was working on one job, putting up an orangery. I was using an extension lead -went to unplug it at the end of the day to discover the plumbers had fitted underfloor heating pipes over the top.

It looks like a wind up, but have a look at sure stop. Plumberparts on YouTube recently did a video on it. It’s basically a battery powered solenoid valve which can be controlled via WiFi. Possibly somehow the lights are interfering with a similar device?

After school I joined what was then GPO Telephones as an apprentice. The job title was YOUTH IN TRAINING.
At the time that the telephones section split from the mail, the position was changed to TECHNICIAN IN TRAINING. This lasted on a week or so while what the initials stood for was realised! In their wisdom they changed the title to the snappy title TRAINEE TECHNICIAN (APPRENTICE).
