Does anyone know what this is and how easy it is to take off?

On the front of our house on the ground floor this stuff has been put on over soft red bricks. Would like to take it off without damaging the brickwork obviously
Any ideas or experience with this? Is it tyrolean?

I think its a sprayed plastic coating. Pretty sure to have been put on to conceal defective or unsightly brickwork. Try peeling a bit off and seeing if it melts in a flame.

So its covering up some nice soft red bricks (rubbers?) on the ground floor on the front of our house. No other house has it on the ground floor. Would be nice to take it off if poss. Someone suggested sandblasting but I assume the bricks would be too damaged after this

I know what you're saying.......however the fellow who had the house before it was very elderly I wonder if he was advised to do this unnecessarily.... I would still like to have a go at it, but if anyone has any experience with stuff would be v helpful

Then I'm sure that can be done.

i’d leave well alone unless you’re intending rendering or insulating.

Looking at the rough sand and cement bumps suggests that it might previously have had render removed?
And then two layers of Textured Sandtex type paint was used - the second coat maybe mixed with a little sand?

Are you joking!!! Some people just have incredibly bad taste.
Where I used to live there was a nearby Terrace of about 15 properties, unusually for the area, coursed stone with very impressive stone heads, cills and mullion. None of them had signs of any movement, weathering, spalling etc. Two side by side properties had been painted two different shades of stone coloured paint!!!
