Plasterer came round to look at the next job. The corridor doorway will only be 72cm when finished.

I think builders planned to open the gap more, but electrics and pipes in the way, so it was left.

I can move the electrics, and pipes can easily be moved, so thinking of opening gap more.

Looks like enough lintel will be supported of i take an inch off. Looks like 14cm on the right, 17cm on left.

Will use an sds chisel and take it easy...
But, a lot of work to make a 72cm opening 75cm... Our door openings are only 72cm, so no harder for access than going through a door.

I'm sure most of us would happily gain another inch if we could.

The door way you say? Wouldn't bother.

why only an inch? are you not planning on fitting a liner and door?
an inch still only gives you 29 1/2” ish

Measured again, looks like it'll be 73cm wide, and i could probably get another cm without removing to much brick, lots of gaps.

do you think that could be a problem? Will all be moved behind a new partition / cupboard in the corner.

I'm not a sparks but would check that the conductor is not damaged(with the power off) and tape up if ok but am sure someone more experienced than me will advise if incorrect.
