Not the point of your post, but Cheddar cheese itself has no GI status and is already made in Germany.
Damn, I've just skimmed the list and the old thing of value is scotch whisky. Some might include Stilton but they're wierdos who probably also eat marmite.

So, the Scott's might lose out a bit. No big deal, it's not as if they're going to leave the union is it?

Well, the UK produces more varieties of cheese than France, so I guess we'll be ok for cheese, and yes I like foreign cheese very much and would miss it. Sorry but I like Silton (currently protected) and marmite. Personally wouldn't care if Scotch was never made again.

the LPF has to remain a red line that can't be crossed otherwise brexit becomes pointless

If it's not acceptable, why did you vote for Johnson who agreed to a comprehensive LPF and state aid in his deal?

It's interesting how brexiteers are desperate to avoid a LPF, despite the fact it gives Brexiteers protection against a right wing libertarian government from deregulating for personal gain.

It's not going away, we'll still be able to buy it. Probably, as long as it makes it through customs before the soft cheeses go off any further.

The GI aspect relates to English production being replaced by foreign production of formerly GI protected products, more a loss of trade than an additional cost we'll be paying as individuals.

Well it could if demand falls too low due to cost or other factors in much the same way neither Sainsbury or Waitrose stock Vegemite anymore.

'Toffs' have no taste?

Sainsbury's only exists to keep the riff-raff out of Waitrose
My wife does the shopping, A mixture of Waitrose and Lidl.

Currently we are getting Tesco click n collect, the quality of the meat is pretty poor TBH. Lidl and Aldi do some pretty good meat, I've had some great stuff from there.

Our local. Tesco super market has a trans sexual working on the fag counter

Dressed as a woman but is obviously a bloke
