Hi
I have a saniflo which started making a noise and now the pump keeps running, I have tried the cleaner this afternoon.

I have attached a picture of a replacement, will this work.

Due to age just feel may be better to replace

The one you found works on 32mm discharge pipe the original sani works on 22 & 32mm pipe, I don`t know what you have, it also has a horrid 8" long big black non-return valve which again I don`t know if you need or not but more important (to me anyway) is that they have a different motor and are very noisy. I don`t think that you would notice any difference between 600 & 400w, this one has the 600w motor but I`ve never seen one in the flesh so to speak.

Dont know about the noise but the pump normally runs continuously when the non return valve has failed, easy fix and cheaper than a new unit.

Non-return valve failure is normally a continuous on/off, on/off cycle mate. To fix it would mean taking it apart to replace one part maybe two but at that age I don`t think that is money well spent tbh. If it was a customer I would offer it and let them decide but my bill to them would be around +£100.

If I go with 400w does it matter if my old is 685w

400w looks like a perfect fit

Thanks

I doubt it.

When you say "the pump keeps running" do you mean that it is constantly on or do you mean (as "just pumps" says) that it runs for a bit, turns off then after a short period runs again?

Running constantly may mean that you have something as simple as a blockage, if it's cycling then the non return valve is the most obvious choice of common fault.
You do not have to dismantle the unit to repair this, you can add a new one inline in the outlet pipe -there is one shown in black in the pic of the new unit you linked to.
I did this 2+ years ago and it's been fine ever since.

Alternatively yes you can replace the whole thing.

Either way, its a sh1tty job.
Better to burn the house down, move house or even emigrate :) :)
