well, that's the first 2% sorted. 98% to go.
And at best we'll get the 'status quo' as regards trade deals, except it appears with the bloc that is 48% of our export market...

Somehow the figures don't add up - except for the manipulators of the gullible!

Done in a few months, good terms and no one wanting to steal our fish or interfere with the running of our country in return. Shows up the EU for what it is, a lumbering parasite. There will be many more like this. Project fear disproved yet again.

Come on, Japan accounts for about 2% of all our trade. We seem to be getting nowhere with the important players.

What have the EU got to be angry with Greece about?

Bail out repayments!

They've hardly taken their financial obligations seriously, now have they.

The EU should be angry with Greece, for showing them up as charlatans for letting them in on the first place.

"Politics also helped Greece join the euro in 2001. Although it was not until 2004 that Athens admitted entry figures had been fudged, the dodgy numbers were an open secret in Brussels."

The concept of tying different economies to one single currency has been a flawed concept from day 1

Southern Europe has floundered against the wealthy North.

I'm not sure if any of the Eurozone countries ever properly met the fiscal criteria.

That's one thing , but Greece has never been renowned for its fiscal stability or probity.
But Brussels overlooked that, for their bigger ambitions.

Like Al Wilson's "Snake", Greece 's financial behaviour should hardly have been a source of ire for the EU. They knew what would happen, and Greece didn't disappoint.

The Euro itself is not properly sovereign backed and is under capitalised which violates international banking rules.

That's interesting . Can you show me the "international banking rule" you were reading when you think you discovered that?

Bail out repayments!
In the last 6 weeks, I can count on one hand the number of days, the port authority have come over to collect their dues. it takes them 10 minutes to complete the paperwork to charge me around 6 Euro. No wonder they can't be arsed. Nobody cares about collecting or paying taxes, but they all want their pensions. Even the church is state funded. As far as I can work out their only purpose is to wake me up at 7AM with bell ringing.

The EU can't moan, they turned a blind eye when they let them and Italy join.

20% of the worlds currency reserves are held in Euros.

The Euro along with the Dollar is one of the worlds strongest currencies and the Euro is considered a safe haven currency.
