Hi I have entrance way covered by door contact and pir on stairs down to front door(live in upstairs flat) have another pir in hallway covering landing and all doors leading off it, now only other way into house would be by gaining access via a ladder. Would you have any more pir’s fitted?yellow door contact on front door, red pir, green windows, blue doors light blue stairs, sorry for the quick drawing

Not sure why you think they will need a ladder leave a window open and up the drain pipe and straddle across.

if I follow what your saying you have the walk way only to your flat covered, so up the drain pipe go through the entire flat and out again no alarm activated.

Thanks I know what you mean but back windows are never open and no drainpipes near any windows, also they would need to go through hallway to access any other rooms from the entry point, but I just talked to my daughter and she said that I had a pir in her bedroom and also the kitchen to cover the back of the house so unless someone else says not to bother it’s off up the attic again to rough some more cabling

cant help you, as don't know the layout inside and out, your daughter at least knows the premises.

I cant discuss specifically how people break in on forums, without a proper assessment you have to go with what you are happy with.

The windows you have could be vulnerable to be open easily from the outside from the example or easily broken.
You say drain pipes are not close but that means nothing to me, cant see them being more than 2M from a window unless its a large flat.

What you are also not taking into account is on the route the uninvited guess may take which could render certain sensors useless wrt to raising the alarm, depending on its configuration and set.

Your flat for example based on your initial response on sensor could be particular vulnerable on a part set, but again don't know the layout or its configuration.

Once again thanks for your help I will get my son to help (my knees are done in) rough the cable into the back bedroom and kitchen, that will cover all access points bar the bathroom but the hall will cover that

Bathrooms are always difficult, need to be very large and well ventilated for a sensor in a bathroom.

door contacts on the outside of the bathroom door good into the hallway/ landing areas, as the device is protected from the moisture of the bathroom, also that door is often shut but sometimes bathroom windows are open for ventilation.

Having other rooms covered is okay, as often little value in a bathroom.
