First time fencing questions

Hi all, I'm after a few pointers please about some fencing I need to do. I have to replace the existing fence at my back garden 6.7 metres wide, eveverythings in pretty bad shape so can't see the gravel boards or posts being reusable.

I'll be doing the work on my jack so looking at wood instead of concrete posts/gravel baords. I know pressure treated is better than dip treated but can anyone recommend a particular place to buy them from or is price/quality pretty much the same from place to place (The big sheds seem to all stock the same Forest Garden stuff)?

Also has anyone got any experience of ground screws which say they are compatible with fencing? Any avoidance of digging would be a plus for me.

If you fit a fence without digging it's not gonna last long.

Wooden posts concreted in are better than ground screws but concrete posts and gravel boards are far better overall and offer much more longevity.

Find a local fencing supplier who can sort you good tanalised panels and some even offer installation. If it's only 7 metres then it's only 3 1/2 panels so not a huge amount of cost for installation. Easily done in a day.

If it was my money I'd do it right first time and not worry about it for another 15-20 years

Thanks Ktuludays, I'll look around locally and see whats on offer. Doing it right first time and not worrying about it for many years is exactly what I'm after. Too bad about the ground screws then spade time it is, I'm keen on having a go myself as I'll no doubt have lots of time on the weekend when everything gets locked down again sigh.

Rather than a spade I use a set of post hole diggers like these:

Great for nice tight holes (ooer missus).

If you're going concrete remember they're heavy. You want 2 foot of post in the ground for anything over 5ft finished height.
