"The government has removed a paragraph from its Covid guidance stating that schools are not considered "high risk settings".

The Department for Education (DfE) previously stated in its guidance for schools that Public Health England (PHE) and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) advise that schools are not considered high risk work environments, and it is "therefore appropriate for teachers and other school staff to return to their workplace setting".

But following an update to the guidance today, this detail has vanished."

Well, the gov have just proved again that they don't much care for children.
Voted tonight to let them starve.

I do hope people remember this and all the utter shi te that has been going on at the hands of Boris & co when it comes to the next election. It's disgusting. This is no longer 'Tory v Labour' this is a bunch of utter tosspots in charge.

Angela Rayner says she agrees with you :D

Indeed it's not the time to stop any meal support for struggling families...

But it's a fact that a lot of those struggling families themselves voted in a government that cares not because they ignorantly believed that 'getting brexit done' would mean their lives would improve...

It will do exactly the opposite...

I'm just pointing out the elephant in the room :)

maybe the voting public should invest in better crystal balls, so we could see the pandemic coming at a general public level

So you think that feeding children during a pandemic, huge job losses is a scrounging thing and irresponsible parents thing? Oh dear.

But apparently you are fine if the government spaff money up the wall on bogus contracts and jobs for Tory mates.

And here we are again, same old argument, same old conflation of "a % of people on benefits" with "all people on benefits are scroungers"

New Zealand
Denmark
Sweden
Portugal

All doing rather well under left wing govts.

I presume you prefer the corruption and turning blind eye to money laundering.

maybe the voting public should have looked back at the last ten years of austerity...

No crystal ball needed - only common sense...

Oops...

A large proportion of the voting public lost that ability long ago (n)
