32mm push fit waste pipe fittings

Solvent weld stuff, soil and drainage are all interchangeable between manufacturers. Push fit and some types of guttering aren't. Both are from same manufacturer so should be fine.

I was seeing Wickes and thinking their own brand was different, one day I'll learn not to multitask. Post amended! Thanks.

So as you can guess my problem is that they don’t fit...

I now know why. It seems that what Wickes actually delivered was this:

Note it’s “WS01”, not “WP01”. I ordered “WP01”.

ABS is actually superior to Polypropylene push fit stuff in my view. Should have said above, the 2 different types arent compatible, although I think Osma used to do push fit fittings that fitted their ABS pipe at one point.

Take the fittings back, swap for Solvent weld and a pot of glue.

+1 .... the ABS is solvent weld, the PP is push fit pipe and has a larger diameter.

WS for waste solvent - WP for waste pushfit - Send it back

ABS waste pipe has a larger OD than PP push fit pipe.

Dagnabbit .... 50/50 choice and I went the wrong way .... thought it was the other way about, last time I used it was when I did my 6129 Tech, never actually installed push fit, shocking stuff IMO.

I just remembered that PP had a thicker wall so went for that one but after checking it's 35mm OD and ABS is 36mm.
