Bath panel, water getting behind...

I have a painted bath panel, which sits under the rim of my bath and is flush with the edge of the bath, as the instructions said.

I just took it off to check the plumbing, and found water was creeping around the bath rim and sitting on top of the bath panel, and leaving a bit of a mess. Also over time this will not be good for the panel.

Is there anything I can do? I need access to underneath so I don't want to seal it with silicon. Can you even seal a gap like that with silicon nicely? I've only ever siliconed corners, not a gap between two things

If water has gone through that gap, it's because you are slopping water about and over the rim of the bath. There should be no need to either slop water over the rim, nor seal that gap.

Silicone is what would normally be used. Could try a strip of neoprene maybe?

It's because we shower in the bath, it has a glass shower door, but some water inevitably gets splashed over and runs down the edge, and then just sits on the top of the panel.

How thick is your bath panel, if it's 15mm/18mm then you can buy panel sealing strips. They fit over the top edge with a side piece that would sit against the bath edge.

They're more for the bottom edge but no reason it couldn't be used at the top edge too I wouldn't think. Just run a little clear silicone before the panel is offered up to seal the strip to the bath edge to stop any water running down the back of it.

Yeah I saw that actually, its a bit of a rip off, £20! Also as you say its meant to be used the other way up. If I use it as you say I think water could still seep behind, and I'd rather not silicon it, that was the idea to not use sealant.

Also, it doesnt look very nice! But I was considering something similar but more diy, maybe gluing something similar to that to the underside of the bath rim. If I can find something that will work

Might something like an upside down V stuck near to the bottom of the shower screen help fling water into the bath, rather than onto the bath rim?

Maybe something stuck along the bath rim, near the top outer edge, to divert what does escape back to the bath?

Thanks I just think it wouldn't look very nice, so I'd rather try and do something in the gap if possible
