Hello
The water light is on constantly on this boiler. No water is running. But it won’t go out and as a result the Heating does not work.
I have switched the boiler off and also tried the reset as per instructions.
But as soon as I turn the boiler back on the water light stays on.
If I run the hot water tap the boiler fires up on water only.
It does not then switch back to heating.
Any ideas as to what the problem is ?

many thanks

sounds like a faulty hall sensor
Thanks,
theres 3 on off valves on pipes going to the boiler, which one of the three is the cold water and how long should I turn it off for. I thought I knew which one it was but maybe not. Thanks for your help

That is the cold water inlet valve

sounds like a faulty hall sensor

An update. It was the hall sensor, they ordered the part and fitted it.
It has lasted for two weeks and the same problem has happened again. Exactly the same symptoms as before.
Could it be that the second hall sensor has become faulty?

If it is I would be looking for a water drip somewhere dripping on to the sensor

would I see a drip dropping to the floor if it was ? it does seem a bit odd why it’s happened again though.

depeds on how big the drip was, hall sensors are usually pretty reliable , there isnt much about them to go wrong

Thank you
The engineer is coming out again tomorrow, hope they can fix. The boiler is only about 8 years old. I guess they can develop faults.
