When Does Lockdown End?

The U.K. problem has probably been a number of factors.
- good healthcare for older people shifting the demographic
- high diabetic/obese population
- cold damp climate
- international travel hub
- densely populated country
- high ethnic diversity
with hind sight we could have shut the borders and largely escaped. But at the time, I didn’t support the lockdowns and still think we should be easing faster.
our lockdown was not that different to france, Spain, Italy etc. And Germany has been hit by wave two at the same rate as everyone else pretty much.
Those are good points and I've just seen the latest stats per 100k and we're not that far away from Italy, Spain, Portugal and Belgium although considerably worse than both Germany and France which are both similar countries to us.

"Vaccine campaign slashes risk of serious illness in Scotland, study finds

Chance of hospitalisation falls by 84% in study that will be closely watched around the world"

https://www.ft.com/content/20576254-422b-4545-91ab-20b4d005bbf3

"The Covid-19 vaccination campaign has led to a “very substantial” drop in serious illness from the disease, according to data released on Monday. The risk of hospitalisation fell by about 84 per cent 28 days after vaccination, according to research conducted by the University of Edinburgh, the University of Strathclyde and Public Health Scotland."

"The study, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, looked at the health records of 5.4m people in Scotland, equivalent to 99 per cent of the population in the country..."

"...The study found that the chance of hospitalisation from four to six weeks after vaccination was 85 per cent lower after receiving one shot of the BioNTech vaccine and 94 per cent lower after one shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine..."

"...The study found that during all time periods after vaccination, there was a “statistically significant” reduction in Covid-19 related hospital admissions among those who received the first dose of either vaccine, increasing over time and peaking between 28 and 34 days post-vaccination...."

"The data also indicate that the vaccine started having a significant impact on serious illness from as early as seven days after the first dose, reducing hospitalisations in those over 80 by 67 per cent."

The term 'gammon' refers to the skin colour of typical far right-wing politicians. They tend to turn a bright pinkish colour when they become agitated about their policies. The term 'gammon' has no reference to the type of meat it is, nor any cultural significance about eating different types of meat.
So anyone who suggests that the term 'gammon' when applied to far right-wing politicians, has any relevance to pork, or any sensitivities about eating pork is desperately grasping at straws.
The fact that it is pork is purely coincidental.
Captain fekin obvious strikes again...All to do with the context Razzler

Offensive name calling whichever way you dress it up..From you lot who like to think yourselves above such slurs.

Dum doesn't like to see his RWR buddies called out.

References to pork are often used to attack different cultures and religions, for example by anti-semites and neo-nazis.

I remember one of the vociferous RWRs on here referring to "pork-dodgers."

"The preliminary data from the EAVE II project covers 1.14 million vaccinations given in Scotland between 8 December and 15 February.

The study looked at the numbers being admitted to hospital with Covid among this population and compared it to those admitted who were not vaccinated.

In total, there were just over 8,000 people who ended up in hospital, but only 58 were among the vaccinated group after the four-week mark."

You are demonstrating your inordinate inability to converse on a reasonable level.
You talked about 'gammon', in the context of it being pork, and pork was mentioned by Dangee, and he claimed it was in vaccines. That was what we were discussing. You mentioned gammons.
I thought your reference was inappropriate. So I showed you how the term 'gammon' referred to skin colour and nothing to do with pork.
Now you claim you knew that because it was obvious.
Well if it was so obvious. why did you feel the need to raise the issue.
