It gets worse

Leave the car and trailer at home and cycle
Trouble is, on a weeks European motorcycling touring, the first day and a bit are 4-500 miles of flat boring French motorways and a nights hotel each way before you get to the decent mountain roads. His reasoning is the first and last day can be completed practically non-stop with three drivers. Bikes can only do about 150 miles on motorways before stopping for rest and refuelling. Get more good road riding that way.

Can you tell me more about this? Do you have any links? A mate of mine was thinking about trailering three road/touring bikes to southern France later in the year, sharing the driving/cost with two others, doing some mountain road riding and then coming home.

no not really it was an article in one of my car mags I got

it says

while the full cost and legal implications are ever changing some EU states have already recognised the need for certain exceptions

it’s not expected that a solution will be found any time soon
Several race organisers and auction houses have already complained about delays and cost and the show industry worries that any retaliation measures from the UK could cause further damage

they say If you have any road trip
Plans this year u may be advised to leave the trailer at home

The 40% I mentioned would or may be a refundable bond ????

Article is in complete kit car magazine page 11

couple of paragraphs

Eu rule changes target trailered classics

( heading )

Could Boris not go to Brussels and say to the bureaucrats that we wuz only joking about leaving the EU.

Been talking to a bloke who goes to Le Mans

it would appear that since brexit u are now required to temporarily export race / competition cars
Trailers
And spares
So u need an export licence / paper work

the cost of the process paper work
Red tape etc
Is around 600 to 800 squid ?

Still can’t see those empty shelves & rocketing prices Notch.
Can you?
Strawman....I could just as easily say: "where are all the amazing new trade opportunities from Brexit"

Come on Dangee, where are all those amazing new global trade deals and huge new opportunities

A friend frequently visits us. He uses a satnav that is designed for motor bikers to enjoy the journey. It finds the 'twisty' routes.

You define strawman Notch. All you do is twist things to suit your argument. Either admit that there aren’t shortages & rocketing prices in supermarkets or show evidence. Simple.

Yes, we use those too. You can even set the degree of 'twistyness' you want. Trouble is, there’s not many nice twisty routes near to this side of France and we prefer the French/Italian areas because we always meet up with the wives mid-trip. They fly out for a few days somewhere a bit nice. Mainly meet up in South of France or the Italian lakes. Only reason we are allowed to go off for a week.

It's the nature of the terrain, I guess, the flatter the terrain the less twisty, and/or more junctions.
The more difficult the terrain the longer the twisty bits between junctions.
