Brick identication

Hi

Anyone help identify these bricks? With lockdown it's hard looking at pictures on the website to identify and local sites don't allow much browsing

No, but...

My advice would be to try these ideas in order of probable effectiveness:

• Ask your neighbours (Those who own a house with the same bricks as yours).
• Asking on your local Facebook group (you will likely find people who own a house with the same bricks as yours).
• Ask local builders merchant perhaps by e-mail (again they will have local knowledge and will hopefully be able to help).

Start your search with Ibstock - Red Rustic, Multi Rustic or Anglian Red Rustic.

Some of them look a bit like Pre war commons. There are a few different types on the market such as Cheshire and Ibstock do one.

Looks like use of Portland cement mortar where lime should be.. Look forward to spalling faces

I pulled them down from an internal wall so they were free

The whole house is pointed with sand/cement.

How do I tell if it’s a lime mortar underneath?
