One pipe system - bleeding radiators question

Hello, we've moved in to a property with a one pipe heating system with a combi boiler. Most of the radiators are mildly warm - some are warm'ish at the top and cooler at the bottom. I've tried to bleed them but water just comes out and no air. Do I just keep letting out water until the radiators start to even up with the heat?

It also doesn't have great hot water, could this be related to the problem above? (The water pressure is good)

One pipe system are generally not as good as a two pipe , hot water should be ok have you got the hot water thermostat at the correct setting

Hello, thanks, yes I'm told they are not great and we plan to change it to a 2 pipe system soon'ish. I'm not sure where the hot water thermostat is located? (Boiler is a Worcester Greenstar 28i Junior)

No, I think what was meant was the boiler's heating water temperature setting, if it is independent of the hot water setting - try turning it up.

Hello, it seems that the boiler water temp is set and cannot be adjusted according to the manual? Thanks

According to the online users manual - it's the hot water to the taps that can't be adjusted . The boiler temp. ( as Harry said) is adjustable , 6 settings with a knob to turn. On the front panel

Ahhh apologies I may have misread that. Yes I can see that so I'll turn it up. Hopefully that makes the radiators and water hotter.

Do you have TRVs fitted? There are special TRVs available for one pipe systems which allow a much greater flow through. Standard TRVs are often too restrictive

Hello, thank you, some have them on, we now plan to remove the whole system and fit a standard system with new radiators as they are old and all the pipes are on show. Many thanks 1

Take the opportunity to upgrade the radiators while you're at it and get them properly sized for a condensing boiler.
