I did this on my 2010 Touran about 18months ago, Bit if a pain working out which aerial is which, some are built into the back windows, some are for satnav, phone etc and it depends on options specified when the car was built. In my case it turns out the shark fin on the roof was a plastic dummy! I replaced it with a dab roof antenna from a polo, I had to get a fakra cable from radio to roof at back, very fiddly, you'll also need a fakra 2:1 adapter because the head unit has 2 dab inputs but your antenna only has 1. Works well when done. Tried one of those window ones on my other car, a Citroen, didn't work but I found an adaptor that "converted" the existing roof FM antenna to a combined dab/FM and that works really well.

My present 310 non dab stereo is fine with fm reception, just wanted some digital channels, hopefully this will work.. just got areial tonite..amazing amazon delivery..ordered last night lol..

Was wondering can I connect both the dab serial and the normal aerial at the same time? Got the unit today and will fit it over the weekend...thanks

Yes, 2 white for analogue and black for DAB. I also fitted an aux input for mine at the same time so we can plug phones in for music.

OK so I connected the unit today...the dab aerial connected to the unit fine...seems to be working fine....however now my standard vw fm aerial (see pic) is a single connector, the unit has 2 fakra connectors , so I'm.assuming my single fitted connector can fit either one, however it won't fit on the unit..seems like I need some sort of adapter...any ideas?
Ta

I put a 1:2 splitter/adapter on mine (my FM aerial is single because my original unit was a low spec RCD210 with only one aerial input - I didn't mention this because I assumed that both your RCD310's would be the same).

I think it's a diversity arrangement with 2 slightly different aerials but rather than wondering which to feed I did both with the splitter (bought from eBay) and it works fine.
