Radiator on chimney breast ?

Have chimney breast in room that is soon to become hall, it is not capped at top, want to block it off with plaster board and was going to put vent in to allow airflow. Could I then put a radiator on that wall, will be over but not blocking the vent if that makes sense, will the rad just suck cold air down the chimney or is this an acceptable thing to do ?

Airflow will be in at the bottom and out at the top.
