Hi all. I’m in the process of creating a small room in our detached garage to use as a gym. The garage floor had a DPM anyway, so have levelled the floor using self levelling screed and put a plastic membrane down, followed by 25mm jablite (would have preferred 50mm, but needed the height) and 18mm chipboard on top. I had the boards already, and they’re not T&G, so are just butted up against each other.

Not looking for a perfect floor but would like to make them a little more solid when walking on, as there is a little movement. There will be skirting going on around the edges so that will hold them down there, but just wondering if adding glue between the boards would help. Would gorilla wood glue work? Or do I need something more flexible (silicone?)

Any advice appreciated.

I guess you could try gorilla glue
When I have done floating floors we used pva on t&g chipboard.
Perhaps using loft boards in a glued brick bond would be better than normal flooring as garages are narrow.

Not gluing may create a sort of caterpillar track effect ?
