The cement an other shortages

Theres probably already a thread on this but wonderd if anyone has any knowlege about it. Not so much why its happened by has anyone heard if theres any light at the end of the tunnel. Also any ideas about other materials that are likely to become scarce?

I think it's two or three fold apparently, speaking to one of my local suppliers a massive increase in build work post covid, panic buying stocks aka the toilet paper saga, and current raw material issues due to an overall global logistic slowdown playing catchup since covid restrictions are receding.

It is forecast to last for at least the next 12 months, in terms of getting supplies into UK depots.

HS2 is buying up a lot of gear and will continue to do so as the different phases begin and that will continue for a lot longer.

I've heard about this on here but there always seems to be plenty of cement and plaster on the shelves at my local B&Q and Homebase stores.

According to the websites the sheds around here have no cement. Maybe some areas are worse than others.
The local ready mixed firm say they are business as usual. £93.50 plus vat per cubic meter. I can't remember what I paid the last time. So don't know if it's gone up?
