Switzerland walks away from EU cooperation deal talks despite threats https://mol.im/a/9621729

Oops! Double negative - possibly deliberate?. I see you agree with Galahad's post above. The Swiss are smart and have seen what freedom of movement has done to other countries, and they don't want no part in that
Have you read the whole article or similar unbiassed reports from more reputable news agencies? The Swiss rely heavily upon trade with the EU. Little has changed regards their relationship with the bloc. The trick with any Wail article is to read the bit at the end and not the 'catch the gormless' headlines.Read that earlier, walking away after 13 years of talks, I read that straight after reading about the bitch-slapping that China gave the EU
Keep repeating it, eventually one of you will die of old age.Surely Ursula can't survive much longer.

TIP: Always read the small print when joining one of gasbag's threads - because gasbag NEVER does.
'The Federal Council nevertheless considers it to be in the shared interest of Switzerland and the EU to safeguard their well-established cooperation and to systematically maintain the agreements already in force,' the government said.
'It therefore wishes to launch a political dialogue with the EU on continued cooperation.'
Lol.
Hence..The agreements in place are due to run out hence the talks.
Still has. It's not to dissimilar to the issues the UK had.
It's not all good news. The EU wanted to put their stamp un the partnership, but the Swiss said no. Fair play and all that. But they aren't stupid and rely heavily upon trading with the EU.So Switzerland keeps the 'status quo', and the UK is stuffed...
gasbag does like to make a fool of himself!
As opposed to relying heavily on trade with the EU and being stupid! But they aren't stupid and rely heavily upon trading with the EU.
Another sticking point was state aid rules
