Switzerland will not be dictated to by the Eu

Ha ha ha

It was the UK whilst a member that pressured EU into the tough state aid rules it has.

The Tory party are ideologically opposed to state aid so it was never a sticking point, just a red herring.

That is a very important point.

The free market ideologues on here are now complaining about tough state aid rules which stop Government interference - the cognitive dissonance.

"The commission said that a lack of common rules could cause Switzerland to lose its "privileged" connection with the bloc's electricity system...."

Well at least the EU are consistent with their threats. Haven’t they threatened Jersey with the same? Bullies!

Presumably they'd bow to any demands from Russia if Russia threatened them with cutting off their gas supply?

Perhaps Viktor and BJ can co-operate on migrant hosting.
Or maybe they're plotting together how to end liberal democracy. That would be right up BJ's street. Or maybe they're calculating how to increase their islamophobic and anti-Semitic attacks.
I would have thought your sudden new-found pro-LBGT stance would object to Orban's visit.

Boris Johnson defends ‘rolling out the red carpet’ for right-wing Hungarian autocrat Viktor Orbán
Downing Street claims cosying up to far-right leader is ‘vital to the UK’s prosperity and security’
But the visit has been criticised by human rights groups, as well as Jewish and Muslim MPs, who questioned whether he was an appropriate guest of honour, given his targeting and scapegoating of minorities.
In 2018, Mr Orbán said his party had “replaced a shipwrecked liberal democracy with a 21st-century Christian democracy” in Hungary.
Mr Orbán himself has decried “Muslim invaders”, described migrants as “a poison”, and said he wants to end liberal democracy.
Labour MP Alex Sobel said: “Viktor Orbán is a renowned antisemite, fuelled violence against the Roma, clamps down on the LGBT and Muslim Communities.

Boris Johnson to welcome the Hungarian prime minister, a fierce critic of Joe Biden and ally of China
Boris Johnson will welcome his Hungarian counterpart, Viktor Orbán, a fierce critic of Joe Biden and an ally of China, to No 10 on Friday, only the second EU leader the UK prime minister has greeted since the the country left the bloc.
Downing Street ......(when ) asked about Orbán’s references to Muslim invaders and asylum seekers as poison, a spokesperson said those comments had been divisive and wrong.

I see you were a supporter of Viktor Orban, and his anti LGBT policies.

Victor also said
" EU countries which let in migrants, un-like Hungary, decided to do so of their own free will and cannot ask Hungary to take part in correcting their mistake"
;)
yep when the EU starts to fall apart it will start in the Eastern states of the EU ;)
The Hungarian Prime minister Viktor Orban said
"The whole issue raises very serious questions , whether we are in an alliance of European free nations with the commission representing our joint interests , or a European "Empire" which has its centre in Brussels & which can issue orders"
;)
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced on public radio
That they are to build a second border fence on its southern border with Serbia to keep out future waves of migrants
Mr Orban said the new barrier fence would strengthen there defences if Turkeys policy on migration changed ? if that happened hundreds of thousands could appear at Hungary's border.
Yep the eastern European countries are not going to stand for it . this migration caper will cause the collapse of the EU . No doubt about it ;)

Hmm it would appear that sometimes you support authoritarian anti-LGBT governments, and other times you criticise them.
I guess we could differentiate the ones that you support, and the ones you criticise by their religion very easily.
