Rear side of dormer on shared ridge, ideas needed!

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on here for a while and finally signed up.

I'm having an issue with our neighbours, our surveyor has told us we need to do what is right for the project and that we are within our rights, but I'm trying to come up with solutions that keep them happy.

We are building an l-shaped dormer, under permitted development, but they are dead against us removing the ridge tiles on our shared ridge.

We asked the architects to work on plans that keep it in place (attached), but we're not that happy with the solution currently, as this leaves us with a boxed-in beam on the interior instead of using the party wall as we were originally planning to. It also leaves us with a gulley where water will pool which is a potential concern (although you may tell me this isn't worth worrying about and can be mitigated).

My question is really that if we do go up to the wall as originally intended, what can their side of it look like.

Would a mono ridge tile work, or we only looking at a lead/felt solution in this scenario?

Thanks, I already did that, this is them kicking up a fuss after, as plans were forced to evolve when the work started.

If they agreed to the notice and you detailed the works then you can alter the ridge.

If this is not what they agreed to, then you need to get advice on whether to serve another notice.

If you have an award in place then speak with your surveyor.
