EU make offer to reduce 80% of post Brexit checks at NI border

Yes I accept I am responsible too.

I would say though the consequences for NI weren't that well publicised before the vote.

If you remember, back then even Farage was talking about the Norway option - the hard Brexit we ended up with wasn't really discussed.

Another part of the problem was that the leave campaign was better at getting their message/lies across.

Blojo said there would be a border down the Irish Sea "over his dead body", several months before a border was put down the Irish Sea.

What sort of imbeciles still take this man seriously, and even worse vote for him?

yes but look at the other imbecile
He was up
Against

He's coped with more adverse situations than any leader since WW2 and his popularity grows by the day. He's got an an 80 seat majority and if there were an election tomorrow he'd have an even bigger majority.
Yes he didn't quite achieve the best outcome on the NI border but by Christ he got brexit done as promised, now he'll sort the border out, and believe me, he will.

So, going back to the original question of what sort of imbecile votes for him. The sort of imbecile who believes in the UK, who believes we can once again be an independent world power (already achieved), who believes we can strike up our own trade deals worldwide (already achieved), who believes we don't have to bow down to EU diktats and dictators (already achieved).

So to many people, he's a hero. I get that for remain voters and Socialists and wrong minded people, that must be painful in the extreme, however, that's the way it is and that's the way it's going to stay but in the meantime, feel free to froth at the mouth and shout at the moon on an internet forum, you'll feel better, you've still lost, but you'll feel better. Enjoy.

WTF? one side is always better than the other, hence winners and losers, it could be football, it could be cricket.
'Oh, there side only won because they were more believable than us', well sorry matey but tough ****, that's life.

And got more votes for it, in fact, the more you tell us how bad he is, the more votes he gets. Strange innit.

Just keep on telling us how bad he is John, it's doing wonders for his popularity.

Well, have it your way, but I wonder if Johnson told you we're an independent world power. We're nothing of the sort. We're just a damp, over crowded bankrupt little island that's sold off most of it's industries, etc to the highest bidders abroad. Once a world power in industries like nuclear, now we have to get the Chinese or French to build our power stations. Camoron used Brexit to get elected and Johnson used it for the same purpose. No high ideals, just political expedience. Johnson isn't even really a leaver - just jumped on the bandwagon. But as long as leavers can get their blue passports, that's all that matters to them. Because that's the only thing they can genuinely claim as an advantage of Brexit. Johnson is a lying, philandering idiot without a single moral. A very clever idiot, but one who has hoodwinked all leavers. I would really have much more confidence in EU politicians than Johnson, and that's saying something. He makes wild promises, but has no intention of standing by them. Then he and Frost signed an agreement for NI protocol to carry out checks on goods from Britain to NI - now he's trying to renege on his side of the deal. We shall see how your beloved leader turns out, but Brexit has already ruined the fishing industry, and because as a coountry we have little to offer and come from a very weak position, countries like Australia will nail us down to a deal that also bankrupts farmers. Thousands of companies who had easy access to our biggest export market on our doorstep are really struggling, some have already given up - others moved operation to EU. Then there's the financial sector that will suffer. Enjoy your victory, because it will be very hard won for the economy and thousands of people's livelihoods. Conveniently for Johnson, Corona will help to cover up his disasters to begin with, but he can't rely on that for ever. It's rather sad to see people hero worshipping Johnson. They fall for his verbosity and theatrics, not realising he's selling them something that is the opposite of reality. You really can fool all of the people all of the time.

You are not vaping you are on crack. So tell me of these new trade deals - how are they better - and what is their economic impact.

As to independence - do we still need to comply with WTO? If we are independent why do we need to sign trade deals then?

He wants to renegotiate this deal which you and his supporters heralded.

He signed a deal which he wants to renege on. He's like a crappy tradesman who wants to welch on what he agreed.

But the supplier, Leeds-based Eville & Jones GB Ltd, which has a monopoly contract for “official controls” in Britain’s abattoirs and other “approved meat establishments”, has a track record of ‘questionable practices’ – the magazine has said.

Yes. Eville & Jones are Tory Party Donors.

This country lost its way a long time ago and now the party which has dominated this countries politics for the last decade just sells nostalgia. Everything as you mentioned that can be sold will be and then charges back to us at a higher rate and the publc will cheer it on as they get kicked and ****ted on again and again.

I haven't read the link, I'll read it tomorrow, but I gather it's about the UK leaving the 'safety blanket' of EU food standards.

Aren't they the f*****s that were selling us horsemeat labelled as beef? WTF?

EU food should carry a safety warning.
Quote..

1981: Spanish tainted oil

Some 1,200 people are killed in Spain in May 1981 after being poisoned by tainted colza oil, sold as a substitute for olive oil in Madrid's suburbs. Sales of olive oil drop drastically, getting back to normal only two years later. In 1992, 10 company chiefs and chemists in the food oil sector are sentenced to between four and 77 years in prison over the affair.
Just one example of EU safety standards.

A more upto date example.

Three people died in Germany because bacteria-contaminated food from a meat producer was sold on the European market. Although the authorities knew about the bacterial discovery, production was only halted after two weeks. EURACTIV Germany reports.

What is crazy is neither side of the Brexit debate should be questioning this....it's demonstrable fact that there is a customs border in the Irish Sea and therefore there are checks.
