In practice it's no deal as people understand the meaning of the word at all and means a lot more dealing to come. It certainly is not a trade deal which is what many seemed to expect.

Explains all. End of but as Boris said using legalistic talk we do have a deal. Bit like the famous I did not have sexual relations with this women. Legal talk as there will be some legal definition of what the term is. ;) Gobbling it seems doesn't count.

Politicians are rather fond of this sort of thing - amazing test capability but didn't mention when it would be available.

Sure we have a deal but there is nothing of any use in it. Other than to carry on talking.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
The politician who did not understand the importance of Dover for cross-channel trade ridicules Macron for stating that Toulouse and Paris are in the same country.
Dominic Raab calls Emmanuel Macron's Northern Ireland comment 'offensive'
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-57460077
Obviously he reads the same paper as Vinty.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab says a comment by the French president, reportedly claiming Northern Ireland is not part of the UK, is "offensive".

Emmanuel Macron is alleged to have made the remark during meetings at the G7 summit in Cornwall this weekend.
How desperate has UK politics become that the ministers have to rely on the media for the 'facts'.
Notedly, BBC omits to print Macron's actual comment, and leaves Raab allegations unrefuted.
Even Vinty's source, the Express printed a fuller version:
Mr Johnson, who was accompanied by his chief negotiator Lord Frost throughout, was said to be “taken aback” by an EU attitude that Northern Ireland is a separate country.

This was highlighted in the meeting with President Macron when the Prime Minister asked him whether he would be angered if Toulouse sausages were blocked from going to Paris by a foreign power.

Macron is understood to have retorted: “Not a good comparison because Paris and Toulouse are both part of the same country.”

A dumbstruck Prime Minister then replied: “Northern Ireland and Britain are part of the same country as well.”
Clearly Boris takes offence when it suits him, with his perception of what Macron meant.

Who cares what Raab thinks, guy is total tw@t

If you say so but he's our crappy tradesman employed to work for us. You don’t employ a tradesman and then rubbish his work unless you can do it yourself or there’s a better tradesman available. What are the past and present tradesman options to Boris? Amateurs, that’s what!

You wouldn't employ someone you can't trust who welches on his agreement.

So tell me what is the UK standing when 6 months after it signs an agreement it negotiated it wants to back out from?
