Hi Guys, can you please help me with a problem thats driving me round the bend?

I removed my toilet to lay a floor in the bathroom, the old toilet had been bodged together with silicone so I bit the bullet and bought a new one https://www.screwfix.com/p/toilet-to-go-close-coupled-toilet-dual-flush-6ltr/78711

After putting it together it keeps filling up every 30 seconds for a second. A tiny bit of water is getting past the seal between the cistern and pan it seems, I confirmed this with Checkig with food dye. Based on Google I've tried this so far

-set the fill valve as low as possible
-partially close the isolation valve to reduce the flow
-checked for imperfections around the hope, all seems fine
-checked the seal for damage, I can't see any
-ive taken it apart twice now and put it back together and it all seems to close properly.

I should say it improved a bit after the second attempt bit it's still doing it every few minutes. Have I got a lemon or am I doing something wrong. Really appreciate any pointers.

Cheers

Larry

Ok, so you’ve got at least 1 of 3 issues:

Dirt/debris has got onto seal between pan/cistern
Dirt/debris has got onto seal between siphon and cradle
Backnut of cradle isn’t tight enough

Hi CBW,

Thank you very much for your help, when I had it apart earlier I couldn't find any dirt or debris so perhaps point 3 is most likely.

I'll have it apart tomorrow and check and for dirt and debris and make sure I tighten up the backbut even more.

Cheers Larry

Hi guys, thanks for your help, I unmounted the cistern and gave the backbut a really good tighten and it has solved the issue. Hopefully I didn't overtighten it ;)
