Circuit Breaker

Hi,

I have a new oven that is going to be installed in a diy kitchen extension. The oven is a AEG BPS356020M which requires a 16 Amp power supply and and has a electrical power rating of 3.2 kWh.

We have 6mm2 cable in place on a dedicated circuit but have no idea which circuit breaker is needed.
The current consumer unit is Lewden QFS-RRM18FLEXI and all the breakers in there are RCBOs. When I have tried to look the circuit breakers up they start talking about letters and curves and I get lost.

Can anyone tell me exactly which one I need to buy please??

If you are installing a new circuit ,that is notifiable to local authority building control . The circuit designer should know the answer to your question.

Type AC Curve B 16 amp. @terryplumb is correct, it is notifiable, the question is really down to LABC and how act, Liverpool were great, Flintshire were a pain. Some simply don't what to know.

If the extension is under LABC and you have ticked the box for them to inspect electrics they can give it a casual glance, or can require an outside inspector which they select to do an EICR and the completion certificate is issued on the strength of that, if they do the latter it can cost more than getting a scheme member electrician to do the work.

Open to interpretation Winston. The OP will hopefully enlighten us. You could well be right ,but DIY'ers descriptions are very often not too accurate.
