Can anyone tell me if they think this pipe? is something I shouldn't cut?

We moved into a new build in 2019 and I'm developing the garden. Digging footings for a wall and came across this metal object which looks like it might be scaffolding or something similar. It must be long as I cannot shift it at all even when getting a heavy trenching shovel underneath.

I am going to have to cut it out but I want to make sure it isn't going to contain anything like electric cables etc. I'm guessing not but can someone confirm? I guess all the services are laid under roads and not gardens?

Many thanks,

Ed

you really can't tell.
scaffold tube is thick and about 2" diameter
I doubt you could dent a scarf tube accidentally like that

IMHO short of posh pipe finders, dig along the line to see if it stops and hope it isn't a 10 foot pole and you found the middle.

Or just undermine it and build around.

Or just past the start of a hidden end and worked your way in the wrong direction!:LOL:
