Apologies, didn't really take stock of the title, is it banging as it lights (explosive ignition) or once its ran for a few secs it then starts to bang/thump?

If it has the blue control box on the gas valve it will be that

What is your gas safe number else ask in combustion chamber. Carry out FGA on inlet air hint hint

My gas safe number is 007.

There are different kinds of banging. Record the banging with phone and upload to youtube. Then no guess work that way.

Ignition thump is caused by over-pressure from the gas feed.

Mechanical banging is caused by emergency water valve closing. This is from insufficient or no water flow.

Yes, ha ha I didn’t right words, apologies

Look at the flame and report back. Horizontal or vertical flue. As said earlier flue gas analysis on the inlet side of flue would aid diagnosis.

Inlet and burner pressure also needs checked

I highly doubt that, and 007 is based in Aberdeen.

This is correct. I am currently down in London GCHQ for official business. Whenever there is a need at the Gas Central Heating Questioners forum, there I am.

Yes it has horizontal flue, i will do analyse in flue inlet, flame i see is blue. I will check the pressures in both point inlet and p2
