Using video calls to assist with specific DIY help

Since Covid, I have been doing a lot more DIY in the house, and have scrolled through a lot of Youtube videos. There have been times when I could not find something specific, and did not want to pay £100 to get someone out to show me / do it for me, especially with the heightened risk of Covid, and I wish I could speak to an expert and show them my specific task and ask their advice.

Is this a common problem? Does anyone else feel that they cannot always find exactly what they need on YouTube to solve their problem, and would you find it help being able to spend 15-30 mins on a video call with an expert to talk you through your specific problem?

There are already "services" like this for various things; I don't think any are very successful.
Not sure a 10 minute video would help in most cases. Spend the time doing a trial yourself?

I would say it depends, if you're a hopeless diy'er with 2 left feet and hands then no. If you're competent and just want to know how to do ex then yes i can think of few times an experienced person in that field giving me an opinion would help. Fortunately i have a few people to hand who i can do this with already and it does help.

I don't think I'd want to hunt around for specific tools and materials to show someone how to do things every time they ring up with a random job.

Everything starts with common sense, and I don't think there is any channel or "influencer" able to help with that.

Litigation is going to be an issue.

If you pay for a 15min expert to show you (via video) on how to hang a door.
And then you hang the door
And then the door hanging fails and falls on you and injures you.

It could (by many ambulance chasers) be argued that the expert on the call is liable for this and fair game to be sued.
