What silicone

Hi. We have had to replace some of the silicone around our bath.
I thought it was translucent so bought some dowsil Sanitary Sealant but when I applied it, the existing silicone looks more cloudy.
What silicone could that be?

You won't find a better more long lasting silicone than Dow Corning 785. If you're looking to improve on it, give up.

I have never seen 785 go off colour, was it a new tube that was bought recently? If so take it back and get an exchange. If it was an old tube then get a new one.

I would also contact the company and see what they say.

We have used Dowsil 785 today.
The old silicone was mapei and only lasted 6 months

Dowsil should be good for 3 - 5 years depending on usage.
