If Gremlins can't get wet, can they use hand sanitizer?

Probably - I think the rule is to avoid water, not liquid.
A good sanitiser should have lots of alcohol and some moisturising agent, like aloe vera.

Alcohol is mostly water.

Mostly, but, not water. If a copper stopped you drinking vodka in the car, you wouldn't get away with "it's mostly water guv"!

Tell the young one it is a gel and actualy gremlin dont exist under beds or hide in wardrobes!

Yeah, just in your nightmares!

The Gremlins are often seen drinking beer, but they don't multiply.

There might be several reasons to this.
  • One reason might be that Gremlins and Mogwai can only multiply if they get wet externally not internally.
  • Another reason might be that they can only multiply from coming in contact with normal water anything like Beer or Soda may not trigger their multiplying ability.

Alcohol isn't. Alcoholic drinks are.

There's moisture in the air and that doesn't cause problems, as well as the previous beer observation.

I think it needs to be a certain concentration of water to be dangerous. Just to be safe I would advise using medical grade sanitizer, containing 80% alcohol, on your Gremlin. Also, regarding Beer, something tells me that Gremlins don't make happy, peaceful drunks.

So nice to see that sometimes we can debate the important topics in GD without resorting to insults! :)

I think the main reason is, that they don't exist.

I always thought the Gremlins could get wet but Mogwai's (eg Gizmo) could not

I think a Gremlin has used hand sanitiser - it turmed into Animal:

Explain that Gremlins do not wash their hands, instead they use a UV-C light box to sterilize them. :)
