N. I. Protocol

…and the UK is exercising its right to implement article 16 that they and the EU signed up to. What’s wrong with that - the EU should stop bleating about something which they signed up to.

"Article 16 of the protocol sets out the process for taking unilateral "safeguard" measures if either the EU or UK concludes that the deal is leading to serious practical problems or causing diversion of trade".
You omitted Annex 7 of the protocol...

"Before undertaking such measures, however, the parties should follow the process set out in Annex 7 of the protocol. First, if either party is “considering” unilateral action, it must notify the other party as soon as possible through the UK–EU Joint Committee, the body established by the Withdrawal Agreement to oversee its implementation. At this point, both parties should enter negotiations to find a solution – though no measures can be implemented during the initial one-month negotiating period. If negotiations fail and either party adopts unilateral measures, the other may take “proportionate rebalancing measures”. All measures are subject to review every three months, although each party can also request a review at any point."

“proportionate rebalancing measures” = a trade war

Which only the EU can win by reason of market size!

UK will back down like it did when it tried its internal market bill

UK will back down like it did when it tried its internal market bill
Because the UK is a 'billy no mates' tin pot country...

Even the US has said there will be no trade deal should the N.I. peace deal be put at any risk...

But brexiteers simply don't care!

Vinty says he wants a land border right across Ireland with a return to checkpoints and violence
Where is this violence going to emanate from Notch.
Even you must realise that N.I. and the threat of violence is being used by the EU to undermine Brexit and return the UK to the status quo that existed before the referendum.
The EU is using the same playbook they used in Ukraine and other parts of Europe to subvert democracy.

its true

thats why you dont ike it

and I heard that from a guy living in Norther Ireland

thats not the problem

the problem is NI businesses are swapping to suppliers in RoI and EU

the protocol cant protect GB to NI trade

brexiters voted to put a customs border there, they have to suck it up

you mean you dont like facts

you voted for a border, now you want to blame the EU for your actions
People like you never learn Notch, you you dig your heels in and refuse to accept reality until it pops up and whacks you on the head.
This protocol is not sustainable and either has to go or be hollowed out to the point of irrevelance.
The EU and its supporters in the UK are engaging in very provocative and potentially dangerous behaviour, they need to change direction before they lose control and the situation gains a momentum of its own.

More nonsense from Notch.

facts

facts you dont like

Northern Irish economy outperforming UK thanks to Brexit protocol: Experts

National Institute of Economic and Social Research says freedom to trade barrier-free with EU has ‘benefitted Northern Ireland post-Brexit.

People like you never learn Notch, you you dig your heels in and refuse to accept reality
oh its me that refuses to accept reality

OK so explain to me a better solution for NI

and when doing so dont forget, RoI is in the Single Market
and so is NI

and perhaps you can explain every external border the EU has, there is a customs checkpoint.

More nonsense from Notch.

I suggest you read the article

it says brexit is sh1t for both GB and NI

as I told it would be
