Hi All, can't seem to find these excellent very white light slightly larger than the standard gls bulb, that gives a light output from the whole bulb, not just the bottom half. I find them great in bathroom and workshop alike. Used to find them in Asda and Wilko,... not any more... anyone know why?

I don't know, but will have a guess, the lower limit now is 75 lumen per watt, in the past some LED lights went down to 60 lumen per watt, I broke open a failed bulb 1663881345794.png and it seems the component parts shine against the dome which defuses the light, may as well be GU10 with that set up.

Many lamps have cold and warm chips 1663881798110.png and when one adjusts the colour temperature it powers down one chip and powers up the other. The close up

Shows how this GU10 uses three chips, C+W+RGB or cold + warm + red, green, blue with these lamps the spreading of the light is done with the chandelier Centre_bulb_colours.jpg DSC_6799.jpg but it likely is very wasteful done more to look pretty than light the stairs.

It's just that bulbs with all-over brightness like those are much better than the half-light half-shroud ones that are available now.... Also the daylight output is.... is.... (wait for it.....)..... Brilliant!

You can get thousands of different LED lightbulbs on ebay, just be aware that a lot of the claims about lumens are made up

A good starting point would be how many watts and what is the colour temp of your current bulbs
